Surely being in Excessive Warrior is Useful?
It certainly is!
We get so much done. And, of course, there is so much that needs doing in our lives.
And yet, we do have a choice in how we undertake our tasks. We can plan what needs doing and systematically deal with the work we have in a steady, relaxed manner. We stay aware and present to our task and enjoy our work.
Or we can rush in and work hard and fast at the next most urgent job. We don’t plan, as the most urgent work seems obvious, so why waste time planning? We lose ourselves in the work, working as quickly as possible, not resting and always pushing on. We concentrate on completing the job and moving on to the next most urgent task. We don’t so much enjoy our work as want it done.
In the long term, always pushing and rushing takes a toll on us: on our bodies, stress levels and health. We use anger to motivate ourselves and push through. Our overwork and our numbness to the finer things in life and relationships can lead us into a one-sided life based on surviving and succeeding.
So, what should we do with this part of us?
If you would like to find out, come and join us on our next Zoom workshop session at 7pm on Tuesday 6th October.
